Beer and Food Pairing at Chef N Brew

About a week ago I was at Wynkoop pouring beer and I struck up conversation with a guy named Mike who had a lot of the same interests as me – geography, plants, the outdoors. I soon realized that he’s the person responsible for the Chef N Brew festival in Denver this week, a festival pushing the territory of beer and food pairing, so I thought that I would point it out to you all and encourage you all to go because this looks like one of the coolest events in a while.

If you can’t go, at least read through this and see what’s happening, my guess is that this will be pretty non-traditional and new:

Twelve of Denver’s top Chefs and twelve of the city’s best Brewers will be challenged to celebrate and create the ultimate beer and food pairings. Guest will then have the opportunity to vote for the Overall Winner.

Beer and Food will be served in a tasting format, 2oz beer pours paired with an appetizer from each chef. Guests will receive a souvenir festival tasting glass with full access to the beer and food once inside.

Elise Wiggins – Panzano, paired with Prost Brewing
